SAVI on TREND - K-Beauty will change your skin care for good!

The New Year’s can sometimes be a bit over dramatic lol! When we are finally getting our minds wrapped around the new trends that invaded our lives this past year (mermaids, glitter, and unicorn everything!). As much as I enjoyed all the new creative trends that stem from my beloved years in the 90’s.

However, I was captivated by the K-Beauty (K for Korean but Japan has also made a big splash too) routine revolution (it might be my 30’s skin calling hehe). Thankfully Sephora’s store and Instagram had the best how to videos, guides, and products to get you educated slowly. So, I dabbled by purchasing Sephora Favorites - Soko to Tokyo (sorry, no longer available) sample box of the best brands to jumpstart my K-Beauty routine. So, what’s the K-Beauty routine vs what we do here in the states. The K-beauty routine has more steps (6 - 8 steps) vs traditionally we have about 4 - 6 steps to complete your skin care twice per day. There are 4 new steps that make K-Beauty so unique.

New Step 1 traditionally we cleanse once but with K-beauty it's twice first with an oil cleanser then followed by a soap base wash. New Step 2 - Essence (if you are thinking huh? So, did I) its a clear liquid that preps your skin for the following products for better absorption (serums, eye creams, or liquid masks). New Step 3 - Facial Oil or Serums. Serums have been around for a while however, serums are very potent and not all skin types can handle its ingredients. Facial Oil steps in and provides that something extra for those who have more sensitive skin or lack moisture. New Step 4 - Paper Face Masks we have seen these invade our social media the past year or so. However, with good reason, they work like magic! After one use you can see a nice boost to your skin.

I dived into the K-Beauty routine for a few months (honestly, a little more high maintenance than I’m used to) and now I can’t go back. The sample box led me down a path for better skin and even though there is an exchange of time for such great results. Taking care of ourselves is just as important as anything else we do. So, let's start this year with a little more New You and see what this New Year holds for us. In case you are wondering I have listed the steps for traditional and K-Beauty below =)
